The Cost of Living in Bali
09/09/2010

Bali is a wonderful place to live despite its many changes which is caused by the rapid development of the Bali's economy, local and international tourism or even migration. Communications, social and even influx of people who are not locally raised or came from the other side of Indonesian region. Jakarta and the island of Bali in Indonesia is still, being voted as the big makers of business and money in economy yearly in almost all major travel magazines in the whole Asia as well as in Western countries.

Bali, known for its wide variety of attractions, the physical beauty and the culture of the people in the island guarantees an exciting stay and living here. Although there are several noted crimes that are involved in the tourism section, it is named as only an isolated case that can happen elsewhere. And still it didn't falter the growing fame of the country as the new Asian destination.

If you are planning on moving to Bali for good and or retiring simply because of its wonderful and natural scenic environment, then maybe this is a good article for you to read on. Some expats consider the island paradise and it's a blessed place.

Surfing and beach comes together and with that many who are an avid fanatic of these choose Bali among other things. Adapting to the significant personal and cultural differences, occasional confusing dealings with Indonesian people, lunatic drivers, unreliable infrastructure, and as well as pollution which they cant help but accept because of the growing population and development, it is still a rewarding opportunity to have a place in Bali and that you can call home.

Cost of living n Bali depends on your lifestyle, or even in many other places. Your lifestyle speaks about how much it will cost you to take a trip or even stay in the place. If you are used to being a western wannabie then you will surely make a huge adjustments later on. Electricity and phone charges are very high here. If you wanted to have a large house, with lots of lighting, you will surely pay much on the following month. Some items here that are branded on the shopping malls are also relatively high because of importation, or some don't be fooled because you might be getting the fake ones.

Here in Bali, expats usually have at least one Balinese employee, or a pembatu (maid), many also have their own driver and gardener as well. Cost of household help is quite reasonable. So if you are planning to switch countries and stay in here for good, remember to check out the best laid plans for your retirement or your migration plans without you suffering from lack of means.
