Bali-based spa centers rule the AsiaSpa Awards 2013

The AsiaSpa Awards 2013 in Hong Kong recognized four spa treatment centers in Bali, Indonesia, for their outstanding services. This annual event is organized by AsiaSpa magazine, one of the top travel and lifestyle publications in Asia.

The Men's Spa of the Year was awarded to Jiwa Spa at Conrad Bali. This upscale resort in Nusa Dua boasts VitaMan, their signature treatment package designed exclusively for men. The treatment includes exotic massage techniques and therapeutic treatments, which are administered by therapists using natural botanical extracts. Jiwa Spa has 10 treatment rooms, five garden pavilions, two pool pavilions, and a private spa pool.

Meanwhile, the coveted Spa Retreat of the Year Award was given to Fivelements, Puri Ahimsa. This healing center, which offers services based upon Balinese traditions, is situated alongside Ayung River in Badung. The site is furnished with a dining room and bamboo mandala pavilions. Fivelements is committed to providing holistic Balinese-inspired therapies from traditional healers who utilize ancient techniques unique to their lineage. Its signature treatment is called Panca Mahabhuta Retreat, a treatment designed to align a customer's physical, emotional, and spiritual balance.

The Medi-Spa of the Year Award was bagged by the Cocoon Medical Spa. This wellness center in Kuta is home to the best Australian and British cosmetic doctors who developed different spa packages for beauty and skin improvement. It offers the Diamond Microdermabrasion, a treatment for removing dead skin cells, wrinkles, and pimples. It also has a LED Light Therapy for rejuvenating the skin.

COMO Shambala Estate was named as the Spa Cuisine of the Year. This relaxation sanctuary in Ubud has a team of wellness experts: an Ayurvedic doctor, a yoga teacher, and a nutritionist. Their treatments focus on the nutritional integrity of the original vitamins, minerals, and essential enzymes in foods. Diabetics and people with food intolerance can find suitable treatments in this spa.

More than 350 spa professionals from all over the region graced the AsiaSpa Awards 2013, which was conducted at W Hong Kong hotel. Eighteen expert judges named the winners in the 21 categories, with some snatched by newcomers in the wellness industry. According to Vivienne Tang, editor-in-chief of AsiaSpa magazine, "2013 has been an exceptionally interesting year, with many new spas and products entering the ninth AsiaSpa Awards."
