PAL Plans Direct Flights To Bali This March
02/21/2012
At the end of March this year, direct flights of the Philippine Airlines (PAL) from Manila to Bali are being planned.
"All plans are being firmed up. The target [date] is at the end of March," said Joey G. De Guzman, Senior Vice-president for Corporate Communications of the airline.
"The new route will allow us to make use of our planes since the Bali flight is planned to be at night," he added. "It will also allow visitors to the Philippines an additional destination which is just three-and-a-half hours away." He added.

This move may be attributed to the $33.5 million worth of losses that were incurred by Pal following its cut down of flights and laying off of some 3,000 grand crew.
"PAL experienced weak passenger demand as well as declining cargo markets as the world economy struggled to recover. As the airline goes through its last quarter of fiscal year 2011-2012, it continues to seek ways of enhancing revenues and lowering costs," said officials of the airline.
Meanwhile, Airphil Express, PAL's affiliate, is also gearing up to launch flights to Malaysia and Vietnam by the second quarter. It also aims to have flights out of Clark, Pampanga.
"We are working on Vietnam and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This is out of Manila. "From there, although it is not yet final, we will launch international flights like Hong Kong and Singapore out of Clark. It will probably be in April or May," said Alfredo A. Herrera, Senior Vice-president for Sales and Marketing of Airphil Express.
These developments are going to boost even more Bali tourism. PAL to Bali and other Bali flights will bring in more tourists to the island paradise and allow them to enjoy the villas in Bali. Bali travel of Bali airlines will bring in more income to the place.
