Bali Gains 6.49% Growth In 2011 Regional GDP

Bali economy is growing positively according to the Central Statistic Bureau (CSB) in Bali. It had recorded a 6.49 percent growth in its Regional Gross Domestic Product for the year 2011.

2011 GDP for Bali has recorded Rp. 73.47 trillion or US$8.16 million. This was reported by Bisnis Indonesia as revealed by Gede Suarsa, head of BPS in Bali.

The figures show that there has been a 10 percent increase in the GDP of Bali from what it was in 2010.


Despite this booming economy leading to better Bali business, Jeffrey Kairupan, Chief of the Bali Branch of Bank Indonesia, said that policymakers need to pay close attention to the current economic crises in Europe as its effects may disturb the national economy.

The subcategories that drove the increase in Bali's GDP include:

* Mining and excavation which went up by 10.51%
* Service industry also went up by 9.97%
* Trading, hotel and restaurants up by 8.65%
* Construction went up 7.88%
* Electrical, gas and clean water also soared 7.35%
* Financial services and leasing up 6.22%
* Transportation and communication up 5.97%
* Agriculture up 2.23%

The improvement in Bali's GDP may have also been brought about by the Bali tourism including the villa rentals. These improvements mean better infrastructure, better opportunities, better, jobs, better businesses, and better lives for the Balinese people.
