Last year, Bali saw a 22.85 per cent increase in Australian tourists who had vacation in Bali, showcasing 788,644 visitors who came to Bali.

What’s more is that a total of 236,867 Chinese tourists have been found having their own Bali vacation last year, which is also up by 20.28 per cent from 196,926 a year earlier, according to data. Malaysian tourists in Bali travel, on the other hand, have also risen by 8.13 percent, showing an increase of 169,707 visitors from last year’s level at 156,946 visitors. Most of these Malaysian tourists largely came through the Ngurah Rai International Airport, flying directly from their country.

Malaysia has been reported to account for about 6 percent of the total 2.82 million foreign visitors in Bali in 2011 while Australians ranked number one, accounting for 27.9 per cent of the total foreign tourists in 2011.

Data show that the number of international holidaymakers who chose Bali as their destination showed an increase by 9.73 percent last year, up from 2.57 million Bali tourists in 2010.

Australia ranked first, followed by China Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, South Korea, France, Singapore, Britain and the United States among the top ten sources of foreign tourist arrivals in Bali last year, 2011.

According to data, the increase was attributed in part to Australia’s improving economy, Bali’s current favorable condition, its proximity to Australia and of course Bali’s lush landscapes, world-class spas, surfing and diving, pristine beaches as well as its colorful and historical structures, temples and its luxury villas.
